Group of friends on the pier

Growing up with a mother who was constantly watching Law and Order, I developed an interest in law very early on. I would love to work in environmental law, whether that be as an attorney cracking down on fossil fuel companies, or possibly working to create environment-focused policies within our government. I have grown up in rural communities my whole life, but after spending my freshman year of college in New York City, I realized I could create the most change within urban environments. After graduating from Western, my hope is to continue my education somewhere in New York, where I can try and help create positive change for the city's sustainability goals.

I am most looking forward to creating meaningful connections with other motivated students while developing my skills as a leader. Having met the cohort, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that these individuals are incredibly passionate about protecting and preserving our planet, and I am so excited to see where we go, both as individuals and as a team! Tackling climate change is going to be a long and arduous effort, but from what I can tell about my fellow climate leaders, we have a strong chance at creating much needed change.
