My dream climate related job would have me working with farmers and/or other food producers to find and incorporate solutions to help with things like soil degradation, equitable food distribution, and reduction of food waste. I dream of helping to make our food system more sustainable and resilient to our changing climate. Additionally, I’d love to make information about food preparation and nutrition more accessible to people. At my core, I believe in food sovereignty: the idea that having access to nutritious, satiating food as well as information on how to grow it and prepare it is a human right. As someone who loves studying, cooking, and eating food, I hope to share my love for food and work toward making sure that food is a resource that is readily available to every person regardless of income or background.

In this certificate program, I am looking forward to building community and making connections with people who are also passionate about the climate crisis. Additionally, I am excited to gain hands-on experience in my field of interest while developing leadership skills that will help me to be a successful advocate for the environment and the marginalized communities who are already being devastated by climate related catastrophes.
