For me, thinking about sustainability in terms of equity, accessibility, and human health really intrigues me and I hope to continue exploring these areas after I graduate. In my dream world, I’d be working at a job that addresses this intersection of environmental and social justice. Along with this, I hope to continue doing work that gets me outside and connects me to community, whether this be around my home of the Pacific Northwest or in a new place—I’m up for the challenge!

In this certificate program, I’m excited to be a part of a community of students with diverse lived experiences that can both be leaned on and learned from; I believe that our collective knowledge and power can bring about the strongest solutions to the environmental challenges we currently face. I’m also looking forward to getting hands-on experience in the sustainability field while taking a deep dive into rural environmental complexities relating to food security and environmental education.
