Linda Sterling

A woman riding a motorcycle with a scenic desert landscape in the background.

Born in Toronto, and having lived in Vancouver BC, Seattle, and central Texas, as well as motorcycled 350,000 miles throughout the western and southwestern US and Canada, Linda brings a broad understanding of diversity and culture to her work; she also manages, with great love, the care of her disabled husband who lives with her at home. ♥

Linda’s experience in legal, corporate, and higher education administration and mentoring helps facilitate every aspect of the Institute’s activity; her passion, skill, and wisdom in the fields of disability advocacy, natural medicine, and plant cultivation provide an organically informed, nuanced voice of support for our team. Linda is excited about her work in food insecurity on campus, bringing SNAP/EBT payments to the Viking Supported Agriculture program (CSA), and helping Western's departments become more sustainable through her management of the Sustainable Office Certification.

In her free time, Linda enjoys creating healthy and fulfilling culinary delights for her husband, growing her own food, photography, bonfires in the back yard with friends, and helping people understand and navigate societal and governmental systems to realize social justice.
