Earth Week Fair

Ripples to Roots: A Restoration Celebration

 

Join the Ecological Restoration Club for a dynamic discussion on water and land restoration featuring expert panelists, audience Q&A, interactive games, and a concluding speech on hope for the Salish Sea by Ginny Broadhurst, director of the WWU Salish Sea Institute. Rural Food Sovereignty: Learning Together in Point Roberts

 

Join us for Rural Food Sovereignty: Learning Together in Point Roberts, a community conversation about food sovereignty and the local food chain in the Whatcom County exclave of Point Roberts. This interactive session will bring together community members and local food system workers to learn about the local food system, explore challenges and opportunities, and identify opportunities for collaboration in building a thriving and resilient food system in Whatcom communities. Hosted by Whatcom Food Network & WWU Community Engagement Fellows as part of the Resilient Foodscapes: Community Learning Series. RSVPs welcome but not required. SEJF Sustainability Walking Tour

 

Join us in highlighting sustainability initiatives on Western Washington University’s campus. Come along as we celebrate student leadership, operational innovations, and general fun facts about our campus. The tour will begin at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Plaza – between the Viking Union and the Performing Arts Center, on the north side of campus. Earth Week Plant ID Hike

 

Join us for a lovely wander around the Sehome Arboretum to learn all about our local native species. From ferns to cedars to Steller's jays, we'll look for some of the beautiful nature that surrounds us. Are you interested in food or farm policy, or simply food? Join us for an Earth Week cook-in featuring fermentation, simple meal prep demos, and even cheesemaking!
